A section of Tottenham fans have been left raging on Twitter after it was reported that exciting teenager Reo Griffiths is close to leaving North London to sign for Lyon.
French news outlet Radio Scoop has claimed that the Ligue 1 club are in advanced talks to sign Griffiths, 18, and a deal could potentially be struck within the coming hours.
Griffiths is one of the most highly-rated prospects at Tottenham at the moment after hitting 27 goals in 20 appearances in the Under-18s Premier League last season, with four of them goals coming in one game against Arsenal’s youth side.
Some Tottenham are fuming that the forward could be leaving the club imminently, with one claiming that chairman Daniel Levy is “insane” to cash in on the youngster.

OPINION
Surely there is no way that this is going to actually happen? There have been no noise from the English media that Griffiths is going to leave and it is odd that the first report about him leaving is claiming that the deal is just hours away. Tottenham fans have every right to be fuming about the potential exit, but they should not get too worked up at the moment as there is every chance that this is not happening. Griffiths is a top-class young talent and scored goals for fun last season in the Under-18s. One day he will do that in the first team, and maybe even England if he stays on the straight and narrow.
