Rangers will be bringing in at least one forward before the end of the summer transfer window, according to a club Insider.

EstConsultancy, a very reliable source of Rangers information, has said that Rangers will “definitely” be bringing in at least one forward.

He made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning.

Good move for Rangers?

Gerrard’s priority when he came to the club was to sort out the defence, and he’s made a complete overhaul there , signing Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Jon Flanagan. However, Rangers also need goals – as was seen in the first leg of their Europa League qualifier against Shkupi. A very late penalty gave them a degree of comfort going into today’s second leg, but fans would have expected a bigger win than 2-0. Gerrard has signed Umar Sadiq, but they’re still light up top with just Alfredo Morelos as the other recognised striker. Gerrard is still reportedly pushing for a deal for Millwall defender Jake Cooper, but Gers fans will be more excited to hear that their side will be bringing in at least one attacker. This will be an important recruit for Mark Allen and one he must get right.

Likely to happen?

EstConsultancy says it will “definitely” happen and they’re rarely wrong when it comes to transfer news. There can’t be much money left in the Rangers coffers, especially if a deal goes through for Cooper. Rangers have reportedly had two bids rejected already, with the last being £3million, according to the Scottish Sun. On top of the money already spent this summer – and they’ve already spent £3million on Goldson – we’d expect any attacking arrivals to be on loan or free agents. One more attacker capable of knocking in 15+ goals in the Premiership would leave Rangers in a very good position heading into the start of the Scottish Premiership.
