A number of Rangers supporters were left raving on Twitter over the performance of goalkeeper Allan McGregor after his efforts in the 0-0 draw against FK Shkupi.
The six foot tall (source: Transfermarkt) shot stopper kept his place in the starting XI over the likes of Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick for the Europa League qualifying clash in Macedonia, having held off the opposition to keep a clean sheet at Ibrox during the 2-0 win, and he replicated the feat once again.
McGregor, affectionately known as ‘Shagger’ by the supporters, impressed once again in the away leg, with fans celebrating his performance on social media and many insisting that he kept the Gers in the tie with his display between the sticks.

At least we got through. Think McGregor has proved himself that he is going to be crucial this season. No offence to him but if Fod was in goals I could see at least 1 goal going in and our bottle would've went. Still lots to improve on but it will come ?

Opinion
McGregor was already a popular figure among the Ibrox local and will have done his reputation no harm with his performance away in Macedonia. He pulled off some crucial saves to keep the home side from netting, but questions will no doubt be raised over how they were allowed to threaten the Light Blues’ goal in the first place. If this is the sort of display the Gers faithful are going to see for all of next season, there will be fears about finishing third once again, let alone challenging for any sort of success. It needs to change, and change quickly, if the Gerrard revolution is going to be a turning point for the club. Still, at least they have a safe pair of hands between the sticks – more than can be said about recent years.
