With ten new recruits already through the door at Ibrox, no one can accuse Rangers of not doing all they can to try and strengthen their side ahead of what could potentially be a fierce battle with Celtic at the top of the table.

With Steven Gerrard in charge, the Gers are entering what they hope to be a new chapter in their history, and the starting XI could well look completely different to what the fans came to expect last season.

However, while some might say that enough is enough and that the Light Blues need no more signings, it does not seem like it is going to stop any time soon if chairman Dave King is to be believed.

Speaking to STV about the club’s transfer plans, he said: “I think we could probably see another couple coming in and possibly another couple going out just depending on what happens with the English window coming up.

“But we’ve certainly added a lot of players and got some away as well but I think the squad is looking to more settled and balanced. There’s greater quality and depth throughout the squad than we’ve had the last couple of years.”

With the Ibrox chief confirming that there are more incomings and outgoings, there are five first team figures who should be in the firing line; Wes Foderingham, Fabio Cardoso, Lee Wallace, Lee Hodson and Andy Halliday.

Other than Halliday, the other quartet have played little to no part in the club’s recent Europa League ties, and it appears as though their time at the club is coming to an abrupt end.

The midfielder meanwhile has only been used through necessity, coming off the bench as a fresh pair of legs, but if Gerrard can find a new recruit to fill that spot, or if he is patient enough to wait for those out injured to return, then the 26-year-old should be on his way.

It sounds like an exciting time for Rangers fans and they should keep their eyes firmly glued to the goings on this summer.
