With Wolves looking to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, the high-profile signings already completed should only be the start of a flurry of players arriving at the Molineux.

With Premier League contenders Tottenham, who finished third last season, said to be in the in the hunt for Porto midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero, as reported by La Nueva, the news that he could be up for sale this summer will be news to the ears of many clubs across Europe.

Furthermore, Wolves should take advantage of this revelation in a bid to scupper Spurs’ plans to land the Colombian international.

The 25-year-old is currently starring for Colombia in this summer’s World Cup, and has reportedly been attracting the attention of Real Madrid as well as interest in England – but it is easy to see why.

The attacking midfielder has not lived up to his potential while on loan at Argentinian outfit River Plate, having only netted one goal in the 2017/2018 campaign – but his performances in Russia surely warrant the interest in him on merit alone.

Quintero’s display against Poland in the group stages of the tournament were undoubtedly admired by many, showing off his genuine attacking threat that would fit in perfectly into Wolves’ set-up.

The Midlands-based outfit are lacking quality in the attacking department, and the potential arrival of the 5’5″ (source: Transfermarkt) wizard would be just what boss Nuno Espirito Santo needs to ensure his team are a genuine threat.

With his international team mate James Rodriguez said to be a serious doubt for the last-16 clash against England on Tuesday, it could possibly lay on Quintero’s shoulders to inspire his team to a famous win.

However, Wolves must not think that all of their prayers have been answered if the Colombian joins their ranks – negotiating the Premier League is not easy in the first season back.

Nevertheless, he would be a top-quality signing for Wolves – and they must sign him in this transfer window.
