As with most sides promoted from the Championship into the Premier League, Wolves look set to keep faith with much of the squad who helped them pick up the second tier title and give them the chance to shine in the top flight.

Manager Nuno Esperito Santo might have brought in a couple of new names through the door at Molineux but it has not resulted in significant exits, with the fresh faces instead being brought in to bolster those already at the club.

However, one man who could well be out the exit after playing a crucial role in the club’s title hunt last season is left back Barry Douglas, the Scottish international heavily linked with a move to Leeds United.

The Express and Star journalist Tim Spiers claims that the Whites have had a bid accepted for the 27-year-old, while Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett is reporting a fee of £3million.

In a day and age where transfer fees are rocketing skywards, even at Championship level, that £5million fee is nothing less than a bargain, especially when the Scottish international’s record is taken into account, and while his contract situation does not help, Wolves are at the heart of a daylight robbery.

The defender’s 15 assists from 42 appearances last season is nothing short of sensational, and his creative spark will be sorely missed at Molineux.

He has been a revelation for Wolves since signing last summer and giving him just a two year deal, which expires in 11 months, means Nuno really has to cash in, but for significantly less than what he could have demanded.

It will give the club a healthy profit no doubt, but Leeds are by far getting the better end of this deal.
