Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is in the running to be West Ham’s next signing, according to Football Whispers.

The football news site gathers transfer rumours from around the world and rates the likelihood of them coming true out of five, and it is understood that the chances of Schneiderlin heading to the London Stadium this summer are 2.5 out of 5.

The France international earns £120,000-a-week on his deal at Goodison Park, according to statistics website Spotrac, and made 40 appearances across all competitions for Everton last season.

OPINION

West Ham have already spent a lot of money this summer and it would more than likely be an expensive deal to pry Schneiderlin away from Everton due to the fact he has another three years left on his contract and has been a key first team player since joining the Merseyside club. Manuel Pellegrini could maybe do with a player like the former Southampton and Manchester United enforcer as his central midfield options could be improved upon. Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang are both being linked with leaving the Hammers, so there is a good chance that Schneiderlin could be lined up to replace them. The Frenchman has a lot of Premier League experience and would certainly tick all the boxes when it comes to filling in for Kouyate and Obiang. However his form for the Toffees over the past 12 months has not been great at all and there are bound to be better, cheaper options out there for Pellegrini to look at instead.
