Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro could be set to leave Italy for the Premier League in a £17.8million deal, according to his agent.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim the Italy international has been left off the Italian side’s trip to the US as Juventus look to claw back some of the record £88million fee they spent on Cristiano Ronaldo.

And his agent, Carlo Volpi, has claimed that there are a “lot of offers” on the table for his client, including West Ham and Leicester.

He says that Sturaro doesn’t have a preference where he goes and that it will be Juventus who decide on his destination.

Good move for West Ham?

Sturaro hasn’t played for Italy since Euro 2016 and his time at Juventus seems to be coming to an end. He only made 12 Serie A appearances last season for the Italian giants and is looking like he’s going to be one of the first sacrifices on the Ronaldo altar. At £17.8million the 25-year-old can still offer a lot but we don’t think he’s needed at West Ham, who have Jack Wilshere, Pedro Obiang and Mark Noble in central midfield.

Likely to happen?

His agent claims there are offers on the table from West Ham and Leicester, and four other clubs, but that his client has no preference where he goes. It sounds like he might be trying to drum up interest for a player that seemingly has no future at Juventus. Sturaro has lost a lot of his shine since Euro 2016 and £17.8million is a lot of money. With West Ham having broken the bank already amid reports that they’re only in for freebies and loans now, we can’t see his destination this summer being the London Stadium.
