Crystal Palace are in talks with West Ham over a deal for midfielder Cheikh Kouyate, according to Sky Sports (live transfer blog, 8.07am) and many Hammers fans are hoping the news is true.

Sky claim the fee is £10million for the 28-year-old who signed from Anderlecht for £7million in 2014.

Kouyate has made 147 appearances for West Ham, scoring 15 goals and registering 10 assists, but many fans don’t want to keep him beyond this summer.

Here are the best reactions from hopeful West Ham fans:

OPINION

Most West Ham fans are of the opinion that Kouyate was good for the first season, maybe two, and has tailed off since then. With West Ham spending a lot this summer, they need to try to recoup some money and this would seem like a good deal for a player who might have very limited playing time under Manuel Pellegrini. One West Ham fan offered a deal – Kouyate, Michail Antonio and “some cash” for Wilfried Zaha, although that seems to be a very optimistic wish. One fan is hoping for more than £10million though, saying that if David Sullivan gets £15million for him, he’ll pay for his Oyster card.
