Midfielder Felipe Anderson has taken a significant step to completing his move to West Ham by successfully undergoing his medical at the east London side, according to Sky Sports.

The sports broadcaster reports on their website that the 25-year-old flyer has agreed terms on a move to the English capital, and his arrival at the club could be confirmed in the next 48 to 72 hours.

The Brazilian is set to become become boss Manuel Pellegrini’s seventh signing of the summer, and is set to join the likes of Jack Wilshere and Lukasz Fabianski at the London Stadium.

He has been capped once by his country after arriving at Lazio in 2013.

OPINION

The news that Felipe Anderson has completed his medical at West Ham is sure to make fans give a sigh of relief, as many transfers have broken down at this stage. Anderson is on his way to being a Hammers’ player after a long drawn out transfer saga, but it may all be worth it if he replicates his form from his time at Lazio. It will be exciting to see him in the Premier League and hopefully he can establish himself as a firm fan favourite amongst the supporters if he gives them the performances they have been crying out for. He represents the overhaul of the squad that Pellegrini has undertaken, and he may just be a part of something special if him and his fellow signings live up to everyone’s expectations. With his imminent arrival, it would not be surprising to see West Ham press for a place in Europe next term.
