Marko Arnautovic has not been put up for sale by West Ham despite reports to the contrary, according to a club Insider.

ExWHUemployee, a Twitter account with very close links to the club, was asked by a fan if there was any truth in the Arnautovic reports.

He replied definitively, “No there is no truth at all”.

This follows on from a report in Italian newspaper Leggo that claimed the Austrian had been offered for sale, with both Roma and Man United reportedly interested.

OPINION

This is excellent news for West Ham fans who feared they were in for some bad news after what can only be described as a fantastic summer. West Ham can now look forward to what could be a potentially lethal attacking three of Arnautovic, Andriy Yarmolenko and Javier Hernandez, with Jack Wilshere and Felipe Anderson pulling the strings behind, and Manuel Pellegrini masterminding the tactics. That’s an incredible turnaround from last season when David Moyes was being roundly criticised, and the board was under fire for not buying anyone. Is a shot at Europe possible next season? We’d say it definitely is and keeping hold of Arnautovic is a big boost towards the top six. The 29-year-old Austrian was a shining light for the Hammers last season, with 11 goals and six assists in 31 games. With quality players around him, West Ham fans will be looking for even more from him next season.
