COMMENTARY:
One thing is for certain; Brewster is a young player of immense promise who already commands a relatively high profile and is well known to Liverpool fans everywhere. The reactions to the young centre-forward committing his long-term future to the club are unusual in a way, given that the teenager is yet to play for the senior side. But Brewster is no ordinary young player. He is a rare gem who has the ability to be a fixture for club and country for years to come if he keeps his feet on the ground and takes on board the advice of the coaches who recognise his outstanding talent. The centre-forward was the star of England Under-17s’ World Cup win last year and many of the world’s elite clubs have been linked with signing him before he was tied down yesterday by the club who captured him from Chelsea aged 14.
