Swansea are arguably not famous for their attacking threat, a weakness that has since seen them relegated to the land of the Championship.

The Swans have recently signed young striker Joel Asoro from Sunderland, but it remains to be seen if he can improve on his tally for the Black Cats for the upcoming season.

The Sun have reported that Stoke are eyeing up a £7 million move for Southampton forward Sam Gallagher – however, Swansea should secure the capture for themselves in order to boost their attacking threat into a lethal one.

No club wants to see their promotion rivals have one up on them by signing a top-quality player, and this is exactly why boss Graham Potter needs to roll up his sleeves and bring him to the Liberty Stadium.

On loan at Birmingham City last term, the 22-year-old netted seven goals for the Blues, a statistic that can only increase if he joins forces with the Swans.

Potter needs all the recruits he can get his hands on ready for their promotion push, and the addition of the 6’3″ (source: Transfermarkt) powerhouse forward will only enhances their chances, providing the extra goals they are crying out for to transform them into a lethal threat.

His potential combination with Asoro could be one to get Swans’ fans excited and out of their seats, which they have not done for a while with their current crop of players, especially last season.

A team like Swansea need to hit the ground running at the beginning of the Championship season, and Gallagher is just the player to help them achieve that with his vast experience in the second division.

Now Potter needs to swoop for the Saints frontman in a move that could transform them into one of the most lethal attacking threats in the league.
