Striker Troy Parrott has been pictured signing his first contract with Tottenham after rejecting overtures from Premier League big guns.

Irish outlet RTE claim the Republic of Ireland youth international, 16, has finalised paperwork with the club following a verbal agreement that was reached last year.

Parrott uploaded an image on his personal Twitter account last night that showed him putting pen to paper as he joins the London club full time.

Spurs have pulled off quite a coup by finally tying down Dubliner Parrott. The striker has earned rave reviews for his performances in his native Ireland and recently shone at the European Under-17 Championships, scoring three times in his country’s run to the quarter-finals. There has been intense interest in his services, with RTE reporting that Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as Scottish treble winners Celtic, all pushed hard to land the teenager. But Parrott is set to spend the next two years at Tottenham after signing a scholarship contract that will give him the platform to join those pushing to follow the likes of Harry Kane and Harry Winks from the Spurs academy into the first team. The academy, led by the shred John McDermott, has been one of the most productive in England in the last decade, with the likes of Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason and Tom Carroll also graduating to establish themselves in the senior side.
