Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck should consider a move away from North London to the North East in order to transform his stuttering career.

The England international, who began his career at Manchester United, is into his final year at Arsenal and after just 12 appearances last season he should consider a move away from the Emirates to claim a starting place every Saturday.

With the qualities of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the Arsenal front line, it is clear to see why Welbeck struggled to find regular playing time.

However, Newcastle are in desperate need for a striker and, with just Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic being the key figures for the Magpies, Welbeck could be the answer to their prayers with TeamTalk reporting that the Magpies are in actual fact lining up a loan offer for the forward.

The 27-year-old remains in the prime years of his playing career and a move to Newcastle would surely make the ex-Manchester United ace the number-one choice on Tyneside.

Rafa Benitez and the Magpies are clearly in the need for attacking strengths to add force to their front line and a proven top flight striker like Welbeck would fit that profile.

The biggest obstacle to a potential move may would be financially, with Arsenal unlikely to be keen to loan him out and potentially see him leave for free next summer whilst Newcastle are not big spenders.

If a deal can be agreed, Newcastle may be just what Welbeck needs to show just what he can do again and attempt to reach double figures for goals for the second season in a row for the first time in his career.

The Newcastle fans adore a goalscorer and Welbeck, who endured a loan spell with rivals Sunderland, could warm to the supporters if he can find the target on a consistent basis.
