Leicester City defender Harry Maguire is confident that he will move to Manchester United this summer, according to the Mirror.

The outlet report that Maguire, who only joined the Foxes for a reported £17million last summer, is tempted by a big-money move to United and is confident that the reported £65million deal will go through.

The report reveals that his current club will offer the 25-year-old a new £100,000-a-week contract to try keep him at the club.

It is understood that the Red Devils have already told the former Premier League champions that they want the England international this summer, as boss Jose Mourinho is keen to boost his defensive options.

Good move for Manchester United?

Absolutely.

Manchester United need a central defender this summer if they are to challenge for the Premier League title, with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones showing last season that they weren’t of sufficient quality to play regularly.

This would be a massive transfer and may signal a spending spree from United, who have been relatively quiet so far in this transfer window.

With Daley Blind gone and Matteo Darmian set to leave, the arrival of Maguire can’t come soon enough.

Likely to happen?

Yes.

Whenever United get involved in transfers it always seems to tip in their favour.

What player wouldn’t want to move to Old Trafford? Maguire seems very keen on a move and personal terms won’t be an issue for a club the size of the Red Devils.

The fee is massive, but that’s the way the market is at the moment, United will need to pay the going rate for top-class defensive talent.

It looks like Mourinho might get his man.
