Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are readying a £17million offer for Everton attacker Ademola Lookman after seeing two bids rejected for the 20-year-old speedster, according to The Sun.

The newspaper report that Lookman is keen to make the permanent move to Germany after impressing on loan at Leipzig last term, scoring five goals and supplying four assists in 11 appearances.

The Sun claim that Lookman has held talks with Toffees boss Marco Silva about his future, with the winger wanting regular playing time to continue his development, something which may not materialise at Goodison Park.

It is said that Everton value the 20-year-old at £20million.

Good move for Everton?

It is fair to say that there would be many unhappy fans should Everton decide to part ways with Lookman after just 18 months, with the forward showing huge potential to become a real star on Merseyside.

Lookman has made just 24 appearances for the club in that time, and it is hard to blame him for eyeing a move away considering the instant success that he found in Germany.

In terms of finances, Everton would stand to make a £9million profit on Lookman in a short period of time if they were to accept this deal, which is a good return.

However, it is still hard to get away from the player’s potential, and sanctioning an exit may be a mistake that the club end up regretting massively in the future.

Likely to happen?

It looks like Leipzig are serious about their desire to bring in Lookman permanently, but it is doubtful they will submit another bid if this £17million offer is rejected.

If Everton are really looking for £20million, then a rejection is likely, and Lookman will probably remain on Merseyside.

However, the Toffees may end up turning around and accepting the offer, with boss Silva not convincing in his efforts to include Lookman in his first-team plans so far.
