Everton are to table a £28million bid for Bordeaux attacker Malcom as they prepare for the exit of forward Ademola Lookman, according to a French journalist.
Foot Mercato correspondent Rablat Cedric reported on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that the Merseysiders will make a formal move for Malcom.
Cedric explained that the Brazilian has become the “priority” of the Merseysiders due to doubts about Lookman, and that the possible incoming and outgoing transfers are both linked.

OPINION
Malcom is only a year older than Lookman but he would certainly be an upgrade on the English rising star. Ex-Charlton man Lookman appears keen to transfer permanently to Germany after making a a big impact at RB Leipzig in the second half of last season, when he scored five goals and supplied four assists in 11 league matches. But there is a sense that Everton don’t quite trust the wide man to play regularly in the Premier League, certainly not to the same extent as Malcom. The diminutive Brazilian (who Transfermarkt report stands at 5ft 7in) was on fire for Bordeaux at the beginning and end of last season, and his overall contribution has been enough to prompt covetous glances from the many English clubs keen to take advantage of the potential availability of Ligue 1’s finest before the new French broadcasting deal comes into effect to enable the clubs to fend off the Premier League big guns.
