Everton have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Andre Schurrle after the German was made available for sale, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims on their website that the former Chelsea winger has been offered to move to Everton and Crystal Palace, whilst Lazio have also expressed interest in the 2014 World Cup winner.

The 27-year-old did not travel with Dortmund to the USA for pre-season with him being made available to find a new club.

Schurrle joined Dortmund for a fee of £26.8 million in 2016, according to ESPN, and has struggled to make an impact in the Bundesliga after making 33 appearances in two seasons.

Good move for Everton?

Schurrle will always struggle to work his way into a currently strong Dortmund midfield and a return to England could be the answer in order to restart his career.

He has the capability to produce on the big stage after his successful stint at Chelsea along with achieving a World Cup winner’s medal for Germany.

Schurrle would certainly fit into the Everton side and if he re-finds the form he produced at Stamford Bridge, he could become a well-liked character on Merseyside.

Likely to happen?

Along with Dortmund, Everton will be keen to sign other forwards such as Wilfried Zaha after an impressive season with Crystal Palace.

With Crystal Palace also interested in Schurrle, the German is likely to replace Zaha should he move away from the Eagles. Schurrle was linked with a return to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace keen to buy him in January.

If Everton are to sign Schurrle, it will be a case of either selling a current forward or moving for him if they fail to sign Zaha.
