Everton have reportedly submitted a £22million bid to sign Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne, and many fans have taken to Twitter to react positively to the news.
As reported by the Mirror, the Toffees view the 25-year-old flyer as a potential long-term replacement for Leighton Baines, who is approaching the end of his Goodison Park career.
The newspaper claim that Digne is unhappy with his lack of playing time at the Nou Camp as back-up to Jordi Alba, with the France international having a £53million release clause in his contract.
Some Toffees fans have now taken to Twitter to react to the reported bid, with many seemingly happy at the prospect of seeing Digne playing for the club next season.

Richarlson, Digne and Mina would be great additions to our first eleven if we can pull that off. Anything after that is just a bonus. Would be really pleased with that as a transfer window. More so if we ship some more players out too.

if Richarlison comes off, and we get Digne, and possibly Mina, we should all start to trust Silva and Brands a bit more and let them work their magic.

OPINION
These Everton fans seem happy with the thought of signing Digne, and it does look like the Frenchman would be a shrewd signing for the Toffees. The 25-year-old has played for PSG and Barca already in his career, and that experience at the top level will mean he is able to make an instant impact at Goodison Park. His recent snub from the France World Cup squad also means that the flyer will be raring to go as he looks to prove himself once again at a new club. In terms of price, £22million looks to be decent value in today’s market for an international defender.
