A section of Newcastle United fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that the club is in pursuit of Cruzeiro and Uruguay attacker Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
The Sun has claimed that Newcastle and Celtic are chasing the 24-year-old Uruguay international, who is valued at £18million and could be on the move this summer with Cruzeiro resigned to losing him if someone matches their asking price.
Brazilian news outlet UOL has previously reported that he has a release clause worth £26.2million, but it seems that Cruzeiro are willing to cash in on him for much cheaper.
However although De Arrascaeta could be available for a cut-price move, some Newcastle fans are still in the belief that he will cost their club too much and do not believe he will be making the move to St James’ Park any time soon.
One claimed that club owner Mike Ashley is ‘having us on’.
This is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets:

OPINION
Newcastle need a centre-forward before anything else and they will not be spending so much money on an attacking midfielder when already have options to play in that area. De Arrascaeta is a good player and will surely be on the move to Europe soon, but he should not be a priority signing for Rafa Benitez at the moment, especially when he is going to eat up a lot of the transfer budget at £18million. Newcastle fans are right to think that this deal will not go through and at this stage, it’s hard to see how the club will beat their current long-standing transfer record.
