Leeds United are going to have major regrets about their lack of action this summer after it was confirmed that they have missed out on yet another one of their reported transfer targets.

Championship rivals Bristol City have announced on their official Twitter account that they have snapped up centre-forward Mo Eisa from Cheltenham, after it was claimed by The News that he was wanted by Leeds.

Eisa, 24, was in sensational form last season, scoring 25 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions for Cheltenham as they managed to avoid relegation to the non-league.

It was understood that Eisa was valued at just £1.5million and was also wanted by Portsmouth, but now it has become clear that both Leeds and the south coast club have come up short in their pursuit of the Sudanese striker – and it is not the first time this summer that the Whites have suffered that kind of blow.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that Leeds’ hunt to sign Derby forward Matej Vydra has reached an impasse due to his wage demands while an offer to sign free agent Abel Hernandez has also “gone cold” due to the wages he was after.

United have also failed to sign Birmingham goalkeeper David Stockdale after a season-long loan offer was rejected.

Leeds have only managed to sign Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman, both on loan from Chelsea, this summer and their repeated failures in the transfer window are starting to stack up.

There was so much promise when Marcelo Bielsa was hired as manager, but now it looks as tough the Whites are going to really struggle next term unless they strike gold with some late signings.
