Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt is the most likely next player to sign for Everton, according to Football Whispers.
The football news site claims that the jet-heeled Netherlands international is firmly in the running to head to Goodison Park this summer after an impressive 2017/18 season with Premier League rivals Palace.

Everton definitely need to look into signing one or two new full-backs this summer. Leighton Baines is not getting any younger and as proven last season, the back-up options to Seamus Coleman at right-back are horrific. Cuco Martina had an abysmal debut season on Merseyside and Marco Silva must look for an upgrade. Van Aanholt would be a very good addition for the Toffees, however Silva should be cautious due to the fact that the Dutchman is not great at defending. Everton were weak across the whole pitch last season, but their defence was perhaps one of the biggest concerns. Van Aanholt is brilliant going forward. He loves to bomb down the left-flank, using his rapid pace to get balls into the box and even get on the scoresheet, but against the bigger teams who will put Everton under pressure, he will be useless. If van Aanholt was signed, it would be good to rotate him with Baines, who should play against the top Premier League sides.
