West Brom could be set to land Leicester City midfielder Harvey Barnes on loan, according to a reliable journalist.

Paul Stuart, senior reporter with the Birmingham Mail made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Monday morning.

He added that it was “definitely one to watch”.

This follows a cryptic tweet from the player himself, who posted a message with a timer and a football, suggesting he would be on the move soon.

Good move for West Brom?

The England Under-20 international is a versatile player who is happy out on the left of midfielder, or playing through the centre in an attacking role. He is well thought of at Leicester and impressed in a loan spell at Barnsley in the first-half of last season. He played 23 games, scoring five goals and registering four assists. He also played two senior games for Leicester in the FA Cup. The 20-year-old has 10 caps for his country at U-20 level and has scored six goals, and a big section of Leicester fans are convinced that he’s going to smash it on his next loan move. That could work out brilliantly for West Brom.

Likely to happen?

It seems like whatever happens is going to happen imminently, judging by the tweet put out by Barnes and Paul Stuart is a very solid source of information for West Brom. He has heard something between the two clubs and it looks like a loan move could well be on the cards.
