Leeds United are still in talks with Derby County over Matej Vydra, and reports yesterday that there had been a complication with his medical are not true, according to Steve Nicholson, Chief Football Writer for DerbyshireLive.

TEAMtalk editor James Marhsment had made the claim about the medical on Saturday morning.

However, DerybshireLive has now said that there has been no agreement yet over a deal for the striker and there has been no medical.

There has been a strong report today that Leeds United have agreed a £6.75million fee for Middlesbrough striker Patrick Bamford. Football Insider claimed earlier today that the two Championship clubs have reached an agreement over the 24-year-old forward’s price. However, it now looks as if Leeds are targeting two strikers, and are still pushing for a deal for Matej Vydra, the Championship’s top scorer from last season. If Leeds could land both it would be a fantastic upgrade on last season, with two proven Championship strikers. The deal for Vydra has been long drawn out and complicated though, and it’s still not known whether agreement can be found on his wages. DerbyshireLive claim that he’s rated at £11million, which shouldn’t be a problem for Leeds. Wages over £30-£40k-a-week could be a sticking point though. However, reports from a number of different sources have said that talks are ongoing, although it looks like talk of a medical was premature. The good news is that that means talk of a “complication” is also wide of the mark.
