Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira is not looking to seal an exit from the club but a move away from Elland Road is by no means off the cards, according to journalist Beren Cross.

The Leeds Live writer has given a key insight into the feelings of the 20-year-old by revealing that he is happy with his position in the squad, which comes after Sky Sports Italia had reported that there was a shock £6.2million (€7million) deal in the offing for the midfielder to move to Sampdoria.

Vieira managed to make 32 appearances for Leeds last season, and has a total of 71 outings under his belt for the first team.

Opinion

If Vieira is indeed happy with his position in the Leeds squad, then it seems as though it is Marcelo Bielsa is the one giving the green light for this move to come off. There will no doubt be some questions over why the new manager is so willing to let the 20-year-old leave after having been widely touted as one of the club’s stars of the future. There should be questions over whether the Whites are selling Vieira too soon, and are making the same mistake that they did with Lewis Cook, who has become a star in the Premier League since leaving Elland Road. At 20, Vieira has plenty of potential, and the fact he is happy and settled at the club means it could be much more difficult to try and get him to agree to an exit. With just over a week before the transfer window slams shut, this is definitely one to watch.
