Leeds United have recently been linked to the services of Guingamp defender Pedro Rebocho according to Kick Off, and his potential signing may signal the start of something new at Elland Road.

However, Championship rivals Nottingham Forest must hijack the Whites’ reported pursuit of the Ligue 1 left-back in order to bolster their back four, who were certainly lacking in the position last season.

Forest would be hugely boosted by the arrival of Rebocho, who has had an impressive season at Guingamp during the 2017/2018 campaign.

His capability of covering a large amount of ground, utilising his rapid pace to good effect, in a game is a quality that boss Aitor Karanka would certainly want to add to his defence, as well as providing solidity in a back line that leaked in a lot of goals last season.

The tenth-placed French club managed to score more goals and concede less while he was playing, which goes to show what sort of influence Rebocho has on games, something which he can replicate if he joined the ranks at the City Ground.

Forest desperately need to score more goals next season if their 17th placed finish is anything to go by, and the Portuguese star can certainly help them do that.

However, Rebocho did not play as often as the Guingamp fans would have liked, and some of them wondered what would have happened if he did play the whole season – at Forest, consistency will not be a problem, as Karanka will want his team at full strength to aid a promotion push.

The Reds need to play their best team week in week out, and the 23-year-old must be a part of that in order for them to achieve their ambitions.

His attacking style will fit in perfectly with Karanka’s new ideas for the club, and at a young age, he is only going to get better and better.
