Leeds have been linked strongly with a move for Manchester City winger Jack Harrison, and their fans are thrilled that they’re about to land an exciting new talent.

Harrison joined City from New York FC where he played with former Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.

But, while Lampard is also managing in the Championship, it’s Leeds that look like they’ve stolen in to bag Harrison on loan for the season.

Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post said the 21-year-old would join on a season-long loan after completing a medical at Elland Road on Monday.

One fan compared Harrison to Patrick Roberts, the young winger who had big success at Celtic after joining from Man City on loan.

Another said he was a huge talent that learned from playing with Lampard, David Villa and Andrea Pirlo while on loan at New York City FC.

Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to the exciting news:

OPINION

It might have been in the MLS, but playing with the likes of Lampard, Pirlo and Villa will make any young player better. Man City certainly think they’ve spotted a big new talent, paying £3,6million for Harrison earlier this year. He didn’t feature much at Middlesbrough after he went there in the second half of the season on loan, but that’s probably more to do with their manager and his style of play than Harrison. We imagine Pep Guardiola will have made demands about game-time after that unsatisfactory experience , which means Leeds fans should get a chance to see much of him this season. As it is, fans are excited and with good reason. Harrison has a point to prove in the Championship and it could send Leeds flaying up the table.
