Marcus Antonsson has sent a message to fans after Leeds confirmed that he had completed a permanent move to Malmo.
The 27-year old striker flopped at Leeds, although a lot of fans don’t think he was ever given a chance to perform, and spent the last season at League One Blackburn.
He helped them win promotion back into the Championship, scoring seven league goals for them, but his run in England has now come to an end, and he returns to the Swedish top-flight for next season.
Antonsson sent a Twitter post out shortly after the news was announced, saying that he was, “Incredibly happy and proud to have signed with the MFF!”
He also said that he was “Sick hungry” to start playing for Malmo and that he was looking forward to “successful years to come”.
Blackburn and Leeds fans responded to the message, with the majority wishing him good luck for the future.
One Blackburn fan said it was a real shame that he couldn’t play for them again this season, while one Leeds fan said he was excited when he arrived at Elland Road and said it was s shame it didn’t work out.
