A section of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to troll Rangers after it was announced that the club is unable to arrange a dedicated trip to Croatia for the Europa League clash with Osijek next week.

After beating Shkupi over two legs, the Light Blues have qualified for the second qualifying round of the competition, however the Glasgow club’s travel partner Thomas Cook Sport has been able to put any plans in place for an official trip to the Balkan nation.

“Unfortunately we are unable to offer supporters a dedicated trip to Croatia for our next Europa League match. We were forced to take this decision only after lengthy discussions with our travel partner, Thomas Cook Sport,” Rangers’ supporters liaison officer Greg Marshall confirmed via his personal Twitter account on Friday.

Understandably, many Gers fans were annoyed with the news, however some Celtic fans also saw it necessary to use it as a chance to fire shots at their bitter Old Firm rivals.

OPINION

It was bound to attract a response from Celtic fans. Everything about Rangers seems to get the Parkhead faithful excited on Twitter. This appears to be down to the fact that Thomas Cook Sport have messed up somewhere along the line, not because Rangers do not have any money. It’s hard to see how there’s a link between the two. A club that is spending millions of pounds on players can afford to pay for dedicated away trips to Europe. The Gers will have to do something about this though because it does not look very good on them at all. Maybe they will see if they get to the group stages before making a decision.
