A section of Aston Villa fans have been losing their minds on Twitter after the club released a statement that confirms a major boost to their financial situation.
Villa have announced on their official website that NSWE will inject “significant investment” into the club, which has received approval from the EFL.
NSWE is co-owned and controlled by Nassef Sawiris’ group NNS and Wes Edens, and they have appeared to have help save the club from their current cash-crisis that led to HMRC threatening a winding-up order over an unpaid tax bill.
Some Villa fans have been left blown away by the news, with many now in the belief that the team will be able to stave off the real threat of relegation to League One.

OPINION
You can understand the delight of these Villa fans, however they should not get too ahead of themselves just yet. While the club is now going to be able to operate with a better financial position, such as paying their taxes on time and paying player wages, they still need to try and offload players in order to adhere to Financial Fair Play guidelines. While they can perhaps demand more for the likes of Jack Grealish, James Chester and Albert Adomah, they still may have to cash in on them. This news though will mean that they can hold out for more cash and meeting FFP guidelines should be easier. Either way, it’s great news for the club.
