Jon Flanagan has completed a move to Ibrox on Thursday afternoon – and Rangers fans on Twitter have offered mixed opinions about the signing.

The Gers have confirmed on their official website that the 25-year-old has linked up with the Scottish giants on a two-year deal.

He is a product of the Liverpool academy, but he was always bound for an Anfield exit this summer with his contract expiring at the end of June.

Flanagan previously played alongside current Light Blues manager Steven Gerrard for the Merseyside club and they will now reunite in Scotland.

The one-time capped England international is a versatile defender that can play in either full-back position and is now the seventh new signing made by Gerrard this summer.

Gerrard is seeing a major overhaul of his Rangers squad and he will hope to Flanagan can hit the ground running in his side.

Rangers fans on social media are split about whether or not Flanagan will turn out to be a good signing for Rangers, with some convinced that he could struggle after bad luck with injuries recently.

However, others believe he will prove to be a strong addition to the squad and he was at one point a permanent feature in the Liverpool starting XI back in the 2013/14 season as a talented youngster.
