Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is looking for no less than four new signings to add to his squad as the revolution at Ibrox continues, according to club insiders Four Lads Had a Dream.

The blog and Twitter account, who have established themselves as a reputable source of inside information covering the Light Blues, reveal on their website that the new man in charge wants at least a quartet of arrivals to bolster the starting XI as well as up to two more temporary signings to boost the quality running through the squad.

It is stated that Gerrard wants two new strikers, a central midfielder and another winger, with the potential of six more signings pushing the total business which could be done up to a dozen of new arrivals after the business which has already been conducted.

Opinion

No one can say that Gerrard is not being ambitious in his plans at Ibrox with the amount of new arrivals that are plotted to come through the door, and while Pedro Caixinha carried out a similar overhaul 12 months ago, the quality the Liverpool icon is managing to bring in is a completely different level. He has already made some seriously impressive signings in the shape of Allen McGregor and Scott Arfield, and the Rangers faithful might have got themselves a little excited about what the rest of summer holds. If he can keep those levels of anticipation up, then the fans will be bouncing by the new season comes around, and the momentum this positive feeling that is building up in the blue half of Glasgow could drive them to success. Bringing in those new names is crucial though, and they will likely be taking the places of some outgoing figures from the club over the next couple of months.
