Brace yourselves, Tottenham fans.

Harry Kane’s value may be rocketing as he rips up the World Cup weeks after signing a six-year Spurs deal.

But the club’s transfer window efforts to hold on to their main playing assets and keep rival big hitters at bay will not end with the goal king being buried in pound notes.

Football London report Dele Alli will become the first of seven senior Spurs players to be handed new contracts in the coming weeks.

The England World Cup star will be followed in putting pen to paper by Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Heung-Min Son, Hugo Lloris Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies this summer.

Tottenham fans will look forward not only to social media images of manager Mauricio Pochettino sat in his office with his arm around a first teamer inking a new contract, but also to years more of watching so many key players.

It amounts to a stunning statement of intent and comes less than two years after a similar whirlwind of new deals for the players who have helped transform the Londoners into Champions League regulars.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been heavily criticised by supporters and neutrals for his frugality both in the transfer market and player contracts.

There is considerable frustration among the social media masses that Toby Alderweireld is set for the exit door this summer after snubbing a series of contract offers, presumably for a far more lucrative deal elsewhere.

But Levy also deserves huge credit if he is successful in tying down so many of the other seniors so key to the team’s success in the last three seasons.

Rewarding success while operating within the parameters of a strict budget is a delicate balancing act that he mostly gets spot on.
