Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward is on the radar of English Championship club Norwich City, according to Sky Sports.

The reliable news outlet claims on its live transfer blog (1:28pm, 1 June) that the Canaries are on the search for a new number one option following the departure of Angus Gunn.

It is understood that Liverpool’s shot-stopper is being considered by Norwich, while Manchester United’s Dean Henderson is also catching their attention on a two-man shortlist.

Ward is a 6ft 3in (source: Transfermrkt)goalkeeper that has been on the fringes of Jurgen Klopp’s squad by making just one senior appearance this season, but previously impressed out on loan by helping Huddersfield Town win promotion in the 2016/17 campaign.

Good move for Liverpool?

Ward should not consider selling Ward on a permanent basis this summer, as he can still have a big future at Anfield in years to come.

The 24-year-old is a highly-rated talent that is still very young for a goalkeeper and looked the real deal during his time with Huddersfield.

Another loan spell away from the Merseyside club is perhaps the best move for his career if he continues to be in the shadows of the Liverpool first team and Norwich would be a decent fit next year.

Likely to happen?

Ward’s future is unclear right now and the same could be said for all of Liverpool’s senior goalkeepers.

There could potentially be a position open up in the Reds 18-man squad if either Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet depart that could keep Wales international Ward around.
