West Ham have agreed terms with Lazio attacker Felipe Anderson, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claimed via their live transfer blog on Sunday [04:20pm] that the Hammers have made two bids for the one-time Brazil international, however they are yet to meet Lazio’s £35million valuation – a fee that would smash the London club’s existing transfer record.

It is understood that West Ham have come to an agreement ahead with the dazzling attacker, who scored eight goals and supplied 10 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions last season, however negotiations are continuing to take place between them and the stubborn Serie A club ahead of what would no doubt be a blockbuster transfer.

Good move for West Ham?

Anderson is the kind of player who can turn a good team into a brilliant team.

His superb ability on the ball is something that all Premier League clubs would be looking to have if they could afford a deal and it’s a shock that West Ham are seemingly unchallenged in their bid to sign the Brazilian.

Manuel Pellegrini has refused to waste time this summer and his transfer market strategy should be very promising for fans of the club.

Getting in Anderson would certainly be the marquee signing and he will most certainly become a fan favourite at the London Stadium next season.

Likely to happen?

As West Ham have already agreed terms with Anderson, it is surely just a matter of time before the Premier League club negotiates a deal with Lazio.

The Italians want £35million, which would be a major sum for the London club, but it is definitely one worth paying for someone of Anderson’s quality.

Will they get the deal done? It seems as though they will at this stage, especially if the attacker pushes Lazio into accepting a bid.
