A section of Rangers fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that Danny Ings wants to quit Liverpool this summer.

The Telegraph has reported that Ings, 25, wants to leave Anfield in order to improve his chances of first-team football, even though he had been offered the chance to sign a new long-term deal with the Champions League runners-up.

Rangers have already signed two players from Liverpool this summer with Anfield legend Steven Gerrard snapping up Ovie Ejaria on loan and Jon Flanagan on a free transfer as he begins his first steps into management at Ibrox.

And some fans on Twitter have been hoping that Gerrard can also add Ings, while others are concerned about his wage demands as according to statistics website Spotrac he currently earns £75,000-a-week at Liverpool.

OPINION

It’s obvious that Rangers will be linked with Ings at some point given the fact that Gerrard is manager at Ibrox and the centre-forward wants to move on from Liverpool this summer. Fans have every right to be excited about the possibility of it happening, but at the same time they must be dreaming if they think it’s realistic. Ings will want to stay in the Premier League. He is definitely good enough for a mid-table side there or even a team that is pushing to finish in the play-off spots. Everton would be an ideal move for him if he wasn’t a Liverpool player whilst West Ham and Newcastle could also be options. He’s way too expensive for Rangers, sorry guys.
