Nottingham Forest are in pole position to sign Queen’s Park Rangers’ defender Jack Robinson on a free transfer, according to the Nottingham Post.

The newspaper reports on their website that Forest are leading the chase to land the signature of the 24-year-old, who recently turned down an offer at Loftus Road and chose to look for a new club.

There was supposedly Premier League interest in the left-back, who stands at 5’9″ (source: Transfermarkt), but the Reds are understood to have had progressive talks with Robinson in regards to a move to the City Ground.

He started his career at top-flight giants Liverpool before being loaned out to Wolves and Blackpool, eventually moving to QPR in 2014.

Good move for Nottingham Forest?

Yes, possibly. Robinson has certainly been around the block with the number of clubs he has been loaned out to, and Forest will be hoping to acquire him on a permanent basis.

His multiple loan spells suggest that he has not been getting near the first team very much in recent years, but he made 34 appearances in all competitions for the London club last season.

Boss Aitor Karanka will be more than happy to take Robinson on, especially if he can help solve the club’s defensive gaps.
