Arsenal are plotting a move to sign Ipswich attacker Marcelo Flores, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper reports on their website that the 15-year-old is the subject of interest from Premier League giants Arsenal, who also have their bitter rivals Chelsea for company in pursuit of the Mexican youngster’s signature.

The talented teenager has also been reportedly been scouted by the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona, but opted to join Championship outfit Ipswich.

His father is the coach of the Cayman Islands’ Women’s football team, as well as previously playing for Mexican outfit Atlante.

Good move for Arsenal?

Quite possibly. Due to being so young, not much has been seen of Flores, so it is hard to judge whether he would be a good fit for the Gunners.

However, having been scouted by Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, you can imply that the teenager is rather talented for his age, and is only going to get better and better.

He is only 15, so a move to Arsenal’s academy will help him progress to be a world-class player in his position.

Likely to happen?

Yes, it is possible that a move will happen quite soon. However, the youngster is also said to be very keen on Chelsea, so do not be surprised if he made the transfer to Stamford Bridge.

If a move to West London was not possible, then Flores would be more than happy to sign for Arsenal – at his age, he should be extremely flattered by the pedigree of the clubs who are interested in taking him on.

A move will hugely depend on where the Mexican’s heart lies.
