Leeds United have bid worth more than £12million for Derby goal machine Matej Vydra, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims via their website that the Rams are considering the bonus-laden offer for the Czech Republic international, which is said to have been left on the table for several weeks.

It is understood that Leeds want to sign four or five new players this summer, with Vydra looking like one he may be one of them after the former Watford and West Brom front man scored 22 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions last season.

Good move for Leeds?

Vydra would be a sensational signing for Leeds and he is absolutely worth every penny of that bid.

He is proven to find the net on a regular basis in the Championship and can definitely be the sort of player to spearhead a promotion bid next season.

Leeds failed to replace Chris Wood last summer when he left for Burnley when Victor Orta set about making cheap signings from across Europe.

But now it seems that approach has changed with the director of football finally focused on Championship-proven talent.

Likely to happen?

Leeds will have the money and Derby are under pressure to sell so there’s a good chance that Vydra will be shipped out this summer.

£12million is a big bid by the Whites and the reason that is has not been accepted yet is probably down to the Rams wanting to find a replacement first.

Once they do, it will most likely be accepted.
