Proposed new Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has already identified Tottenham youngster Juan Foyth as a potential target for a loan deal, according to a tweet from Varksy Sports.

The Spanish sports outlet tweeted that the Argentine boss, who Sky Sports report has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road, already has the 6’1″ (source: Transfermarkt) powerhouse on his radar as he soon begins life in the Championship.

The 20-year-old arrived at Tottenham in August 2017 from Argentinian side Estudiantes for a fee of around £11.7 million, acting as backup to the first team.

The centre-back has made 8 appearances for Spurs this season, with one of them being a 3-0 Champions League win over APOEL Nicosia – which Bielsa will be wanting to take advantage of after identifying him as his first transfer target.

Good move for Leeds?

The defender has made 8 appearances for Spurs this season, 1 of them coming in the Champions League – which Bielsa has undoubtedly already been impressed by.

He will be wanting to take advantage of this as he hopes to get Leeds promoted in his first season in the Elland Road hotseat.

Even though Foyth’s experience with Spurs is limited, his 8 displays with a top-level team could just be what Bielsea needs to kickstart Leeds’ promotion hopes this season and prove his transfer pedigree.

Likely to happen?

Bielsa will be wanting to prove what he is about in this transfer window, and a loan deal for Foyth may just go to prove that.

He has only just been appointed at Leeds, but with the young Argentine already on his radar, he clearly wants to get the ball rolling as soon as possible, so do not be surprised if a move happens quickly.

Additionally, Foyth will be wanting regular game time, so Bielsa will be sure to push through a move as soon as he can.
