A section of West Ham fans have reacted positively to an announcement made my Hammers star Manuel Lanzini concerning his injury.
The Argentina international tore his ACL during the warm-up for the World Cup and many thought that he could miss significant time in the recovery process.
However, the announcement made on his personal Twitter account states that Lanzini himself is expecting to play during the early stages on 2019, much to the delight of Hammers fans.
“Some English media have said that my injury will make me miss next season, that there were problems with the surgery… none of this is true. The surgery went really well. Although I don’t want to set a date, I expect to be ready to play at the beginning of 2019. Thank you,” he said.

Some fans even took to Twitter to dish out well wishes for the maestro, and here are a few of the best reactions:
Good to hear. Can't wait to see you playing in the Claret and Blue again #COYI

It’s clear to see that the fans are happy that Lanzini has such a professional outlook on this injury, not trying to push himself before he is ready.
OPINION
Manuel Lanzini is one of West Ham’s best players, so it is not surprising to see the Hammers faithful reacting so amicably to this bad news. The Irons are going to miss his skill set throughout the first half of the season, but it is much better to ensure that the Argentine is fit again before risking another injury. Argentina too are missing the attacking midfielder, as they only just struggled through their World Cup group after beating Nigeria 2-1 on Tuesday evening. The Hammers fans think it’s important to keep rested before trying to come back early, and this seems like some sound advice.
