Brendan Rodgers must sign defender Moses Odubajo after it the Scottish Sun had reported that Celtic are conducting talks with the former Hull City right-back.

Odubajo, 24, has had to watch the game for two years from the sidelines after undergoing three major knee surgeries but he now could be in line to make a return to the game at Celtic Park with him understood to have jetted into Austria for talks with Rodgers.

The former England under-20 international sustained a severe injury during a pre-season game versus Grimsby Town, but is now thought to be once again fully fit.

This represents a rare opportunity to land a promising talent on a free transfer, as Odubajo has stated he will leave Hull once his contract runs out at the end of this month.

Rodgers is slightly short at the right-back area, with longtime starter Mikael Lustig holding down the position, but the jury is still out on Christian Gamboa.

The Hoops can, in this scenario, add some much-needed depth to the position whilst also potentially landing themselves a starter.

Odubajo always looked dangerous for Hull, and played an integral role in their promotion-winning campaign just two years ago.

Should it not have been the case of an injury, the 24-year-old could have been a regular starter for Hull in the Premier League the following season.

This must be taken advantage of by Rodgers, and there is no risk surrounding the transfer, as Celtic can land him on a free.

This transfer could be the bargain of the summer so Celtic must push on to get this one over the line.
