Wolverhampton Wanderers have gone a long way to securing their Premier League status next season after the acquisition of attacker Diogo Jota on a permanent deal.

The club announced the arrival on their official Twitter account on Saturday morning, much to the delight of the fans.

This serves to be the most important signing that Nuno Espirito Santo will make all season for Wolves, as Jota’s influence on the team in an attacking sense is second to none.

The former Portugal under 23 international scored 18 goals last season for the Midlands club, as well as tallying five assists, proving to be a major driving force leading to the promotion.

This attacking output is was the club are going to need in the Premier League, as the standard of football is increased.

What’s more is that Jota will now have the chance to press on and earn his place in Portugal senior international team, with the exposure from playing in England’s top division.

This could serve to be the most important transfer in Wolves recent history, as the club have not retained their Premier League status since the 2010/11 season.

This task that Santo has been faced with will be a lot easier if Jota produces the same level of end product that he did last season, and the addition of Raul Jimenez will further to that production.

In fact, Wolves roster has improved so much that their eyes should be looking further up the table, as opposed to looking to avoid relegation.
