Wolves want Monaco youngster Vinagre back on loan

|

Wolves are looking to re-sign Monaco defender Ruben Vinagre on loan again next season after the left-back impressed in his first spell at Molineux last term, according to the Express and Star.

The newspaper reports on their website that the 19-year-old is wanted by the Midlands club for a repeat loan spell, but they are not keen on a deal for the youngster on a permanent basis yet despite a handful of promising displays for the newly-promoted club.

Boss Nuno Espirito Santo is also looking at the option of sub-loaning Vinagre for a chunk of the season to continue the player’s progress, who is regarded as a potential back-up to current left-back Barry Douglas.

Good move for Wolves?

Vinagre strung together a cluster of impressive performances for Wolves in his 13 appearances for the club, and re-signing the youngster on loan is a good move for the club.

The idea of sub-loaning him is also a good move, especially with the club being promoted to the Premier League and Vinagre being inexperienced at this level.

The Wolves manager will not want to risk him in the Premier League yet and gaining experience at another club is just what he needs to be a good player in the top-flight.

Likely to happen?

Vinagre’s future is the last to be decided out of the six players who spent last season on loan at Wolves, but the loan deal is likely to happen sooner rather than later.

Vinagre will be delighted at the prospect of gaining experience in England and the possibility of playing for a Premier League club such as Wolves.

A permanent deal is not on the cards any time soon, but this likely loan deal will be perfect to work out where the club finally stand with the youngster.
