Everton target Yacine Brahimi is available for fee of up to £26million this summer due to Porto’s financial difficulties, according to a report.

France Football claim the Portuguese club have set an asking price of between £21m and £26m as they look to cash in on one of their biggest assets.

The report states that Everton have held a long-standing interest in the Algerian winger, with Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers also holding an interest.

However, the English clubs face a battle with Italian side’s Roma and Inter Milan for the 28-year-old’s signature.

OPINION

Brahimi used to be known as an erratic winger, who possessed all the attributes to be a great player but didn’t perform consistently. That all changed last season when the Algerian shone for Porto, scoring 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions last season, as the Portuguese side won the league title by seven points. The 28-year-old is lightning quick, full of tricks and possesses a deadly shot, a very attractive talent. The fact he’s available for such a relatively low amount of money will alert a lot of clubs in European football. Brahimi would thrive at Everton under new boss Marco Silva and would add to an already exciting pool of wingers including Ademola Lookman, Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott. The former Rennes player would be a coup for any side, but if newly-promoted Wolves were to pull off this signing, that would really mean business.
