There is nothing more than fans want to see than one of their attacking players tearing the opposition to threads with his flair and skill – and it is something the West Ham faithful have been missing out on.

The Irons may have avoided relegation last season but it was not achieved in a thrilling manner, and there were several times throughout the season that the squad looked completely devoid of any sort of attacking threat.

Part of that will be down to the tactics employed by former boss David Moyes, but looking through the squad there is a distinct lack of dazzling talents who can change the game with their own two feet – Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini the notable exceptions.

With Manuel Pellegrini at the helm, that needs to change, and there is a Premier League swoop on the cards that the Hammers must be looking at hijacking.

The Daily Echo claim that top flight rivals Southampton, Everton and Newcastle United are all keeping close tabs on Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes, and his stats show that he can be the game changer the new boss needs at the London Stadium.

The 26-cap Dutch international is known for his electric pace and he has put that to great effect for the Russian side, turning into something of a goal machine with 21 goals in 38 appearances this season as he puts the opposition to the sword.

If Pellegrini wants to get the fans on their feet at the London Stadium, then the 26-year-old is exactly the sort of signing he should be targeting, and by sinking the hopes of their Premier League rivals it kills two birds with one stone.
