While Tottenham have enjoyed a successful four years under Maurico Pochettino, Premier League rivals Everton have endured a tough period of managerial changes – and it seems to have affected attacker Ademola Lookman.

The Lilywhites have gone from strength to strength under the Argentine boss, emerging as top four regulars – something the Toffees would have hoped to do after a couple of campaigns pushing for a top six finish.

Instead, Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce failed to impress with their brands of football, and the mantle has now fallen at the feet of former Watford boss to steady the ship, the Portuguese coach replacing the ex-England man this summer.

However, despite what could potentially be an exciting new chapter at Goodison Park, 20-year-old Lookman, who spent the second half of last season out on loan at RB Leipzig, seems to be uncertain as to whether Merseyside is the place for him to carry on his career.

The Mirror state the young winger is set for immediate crunch talks with the Toffees in a bid to understand where he features in Silva’s plans, with Leipzig, Southampton and Tottenham all said to be watching on with intent.

If the lightning fast winger is unsatisfied with his future at Everton, then it will trigger a transfer battle for his capture, and Spurs must make sure they are leading that queue by placing an immediate bid.

By having an offer on the table, it will only unsettle Lookman further and make those discussions a lot tougher for Everton, while giving Spurs the chance to poach one of England’s brightest talents away from their rivals.

Pochettino has a reputation of developing young English talent and if the winger is unconvinced by Silva’s plans, then there are few other manager’s who he would want to work than the Spurs man.

He could become a crucial cog of Tottenham’s machine, and with a lack of natural wingers at their disposal, would help fill a gap in their squad.
