Tottenham have held talks with Fenerbahce today (Friday) over the sale of attacker Georges-Kevin NKoudou, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish publication claim the Premier League big hitters are working on a deal to prise NKoudou from White Hart Lane in a move driven by new sporting director Damien Comolli.

Fanatik report that the former Marseille winger could move to Fenerbahce for a fee of around £6.1million.

OPINION

It will certainly hurt Spurs’ board if they are forced to sell NKoudou at a loss after he joined from Marseille two summers ago for a fee of around £11million. The speedy wide man has certainly failed to live up to his billing, both at Spurs and during a loan spell at Burnley in the second half of last season. Most of NKoudou’s appearances for Spurs have come as a substitute and he has done nothing to suggest he can ever cut it in the Premier League, where his pace and dribbling ability have not been enough to compensate for his inability to cope with the physical demands. Both Mauricio Pochettino and Sean Dyche have a habit of turning water into wine with players struggling for form and confidence, but neither were able to work the oracle with NKoudou. Good enough to be capped by France at Under-21s level, he is not a rounded-enough player to make it in England and a move to a weaker league such as the Turkish one would enable him to rediscover his mojo.
