Tottenham supporters are not impressed after Fernando Llorente told Mundo Deportivo he is set to remain with the club next season after enduring a mediocre campaign following his switch from Swansea City last summer.
The Spanish attacker has not been able to replicate the kind of form in North London that earned him the switch to the club in the first place and fans have been largely disappointed by his all-round play.
Of course, with Harry Kane ahead of him in the pecking order, it was never going to be easy for the attacker to be anything other than a bit part player – and he has certainly been that.
The 33-year-old made a total of 16 Premier League appearances where he scored just one goal last term.
It was in the FA Cup that he was handed a bigger bite of the cherry but even against Welsh minnows, Newport County, he failed to put in a convincing display that warranted Mauricio Pochettino keeping him in the side.
As a result Tottenham supporters would not have been disappointed to seeing the back of him this summer which is why there is so much disappointment on Twitter after hearing the player’s comments to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, which were relayed by Sport Witness, where he admitted there was no interest in him from Spain and as such he would be remaining in North London.
